1930 Model A Ford
1930 Model A Ford, two door sedan.
Boy, do I remember this one. My very first car. Check out the handsome guy in the cool clothes. Think that he ever got a date?
When my dad told me his first car was a Model A, I was impressed, and I wanted to get one just like it. I was 15 years old.
Now let me tell you, my ability to find things at amazing prices didn’t start in later life. I found an incredible 1931 Model A Ford coupe, restored—for only $900.00
My dad was brilliant. He told me that it was way too much money. This was 1963. He said that he only paid “a hundred bucks” for his. “ Keep looking”, he said. I don’t think he ever mentally left the 1930’s.
He finally found a restorable wreck for $200 dollars. “It only cost me a couple hundred bucks to get mine on the road back in the day.” Guess what dad, this is a new day. By the time it was done, he had spent a few thousand Bucks restoring it to a $1,500 running wreck.
I have followed my instincts since. Come on, $900.00 restored vs $200.00 needing everything but a new everything? Thanks for the lesson dad. I’m glad you paid for it.
